The Rochester Art Club Pastel Painters at Tasteology's

The Rochester Art Club Pastel Painters will be exhibiting at Tasteology's Gallery Room located at 3400 Monroe Avenue, Pittsford, NY. The show opens Tuesday, June 3rd at 11 a.m. and ends Sunday, June 29th. Opening reception is Friday, June 6th 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. All are welcome. Penfield Art Association Spring Art Show and Sale

Rochester Art Supply Invitational Art Exhibit

Christine is among the select group of artists to be invited to the Rochester Art Supply Invitation Art Exhibit at the High Falls Fine Art Gallery. The show runs from May 18th until July 6th with the opening reception on Sunday, May 18th, 2008 from 3 - 6 pm. The High Falls Fine Art Gallery hours of operation are from 10 am - 4 pm Wednesday through Friday and 12 - 4 pm Saturday and Sunday. Rochester Art Club Spring Art Show

Christine was pleased to have her watercolor "Growing Awareness" and pastel "Time for Bed" juried into the Rochester Art Club Spring Art Show. "Time for Bed" won a merit award. The show opened April 2nd at the Arts and Cultural Councel Gallery, 277 North Goodman Street, Rochester, NY 14607. The show runs until Friday April 25th and is open weekdays from 10 am - 4 pm. The show will also be open one Saturday, April 12th from 10 am - 4 pm.

The Fifth Annual Artist's Soul Art Show

Christine invites you to attend the opening reception of the the fifth annual Artist's Soul Art Show on Friday, October 19, 2007 from 7 to 9 pm at the Sisters of St. Joseph Motherhouse 150 French Road, Rochester, NY 14618. Artworks & Poetwords

Christine is proud to be a part of the Artworks and Poetwords exhibition sponsored by the Rochester Art Club. A unique new exhibition showcases the artistic/poetic process as much as its end-products. Thirty-one artists were randomly paired with 31 poets. Over a period of eight months, each artist-poet team has collaborated--without boundaries or guidelines—to see where it leads them. Almost all the teams were perfect strangers at the beginning of the project.

Sunday with the Arts

In association with the Penfield Art Association, Christine will be participating at the Legacy at Willow Pond October Art Show and Sale. Monroe County Bar Association Displays Paintings By Local Artist

"The Monroe County Bar Association has recently acquired 10 works by local watercolor artist Christine Waara. Each piece of art is on display on the 10th floor of the newly re-modeled MCBA offices.

As the seasons change, so will the MCBA's collection of Waara's art. Currently, the paintings each have a winter theme. However, when the weather changes, Waara will introduce her spring/summer collection.

The artist works off of several photographs for one painting to invent a story.

Watercolor is a cerebral process, said Waara.

She Did It!

Christine finished the Honolulu Marathon and raised an estimated $7000 for the Arthritis Foundation for which she would like to express a heart-felt "Thank You!" to all who contributed to this worthy effort. Christine finished 14,873rd place overall, 5,860th of the women, and 628th in her division with an overall time of 6:05:53. She summed up the race by saying, "Sure, the winner might have finished in 2 hours and 12 minutes, but can they run for six hours straight in 85 degree heat? I don't think so." Artist's Soul Art Show

Christine is happy to again be part of the Artist's Soul Art Show at the Sisters of St. Joseph Spirituality Center. The opening reception is October 14th from 7:00 - 9:00. Arthritis Foundation Marathon

Painting in Monet's garden, Giverny, France.

Christine is excited to participate in an opportunity to paint in Monet's garden in Giverny, France just outside of Paris. She will be spending ten days painting with other artists as well as visiting Paris for an additional three days. She will be in France from July 31st to August 14th.
